BODY RIOT is a manifesto of queer radical pleasure in the form of a 3 hour durational performative protest designed for gallery/museum spaces. The work examines sensual performative languages not only as a conceptual statement, but also a collective call to action and intrusion on the heteronormative politics of pleasure.

The body cannot heal when it cannot move oppressive and violent colonial concepts out of its organism. This oppression often drives queer activism into a place of prioritizing survival and destruction, rather than rebuilding and reclaiming. However, through self-authorship of radical creative work, there is the possibility to experience that which was stolen and forbidden. The trauma story must be told, but when it remains the only story we know how to tell, we continue to exist for our oppressors' attention, and never in revolution.
BODY RIOT is a call to embody a future we hope for, desires we long to access.
